Magdala Falls in found approx 3.7kms along the Magdala Gully walking track that starts at a couple of locations in Springwood on the Blue Mountains, when I do this walk I usually start at Picnic Point and head down from there. Magdala Falls also requires a bit of effort if you wish to see them like the example images below, there is a vantage point above them, but it is well hidden by follage and does not give much of a view at all, you will need to go well past this lookout on the walking track and at a dusty overhang, you can descend down to creek level. Be warned, this is not suitable for kids or those not used to scrambling, you will encounter Lawyer vine and very slippery rocks.
Once you have arrived at the base of the falls, you will notice the colour of the pool is a vivid blue, hence its name, the Blue Pool, in the right light it is stunning to see. The whole rocky area around the base of the falls is very slippery, so take care if you intend to visit and or go for a swim. I look forward to seeing these falls with some greater water flow and will be back when I know the creek is flowing much better.
