Witches Leap is a nice fall when it has a reasonable flow, a lot of the time it is just a dribble and not much to see at all. It is a very short walk down a very well made walking track and less than 10 minutes from your car, after rain it is well worth the visit as that will be when it is at its best. Park at Katoomba Falls Reserve across the road, of if there is space, to the right of the old Cafe, then walk straight into the park and down the track.
There are two ways of accessing the falls, the short way straight down to the falls and you are there in just a few minutes, or, take the round walk by going right at the sign and then down via a couple of lookouts and then back up the gully to the falls to then ascend up and out to your car.
A Leap is a Scottish word for waterfall, it is used to name a number of waterfalls in the blue mountains. Can you see the face in the lower cascades, eyes, nose and lips?
